Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. That's the whole point of how I work. You pick the services that fit your situation and you get started online — no sales call to sit through. Once you're on board, we'll have a short call to confirm the details and tailor everything to you.

  • We’ll schedule a quick onboarding call where we go through exactly what you need, I'll confirm the scope and final price if anything's changed, and I'll send over the bits I need to get started (including the standard ID checks every accountant has to do). Then I get to work and keep you updated.

  • Don't worry about getting it exactly right. Pick the closest fit and we’ll discuss everything on your onboarding call before any work starts. You won't be charged for something you don't need.

  • No — everything's handled online, so it doesn't matter where you are.

  • The price you see is the price you pay.

  • Most of the time, yes. I’ll let you know if they’re not for your situation on your onboarding call.

  • Once you're on board I'll send a clear list, but generally it's your income and expense records for the period, any relevant statements or paperwork, and your HMRC details. The tidier your records, the smoother (and often cheaper) the job — and if they need pulling together first, bookkeeping is available, which we'll agree based on what you've got.

  • Most returns are drafted within 7 working days of you sending your records.

  • For self-assessment, the online filing and payment deadline is 31 January following the end of the tax year (which runs to 5 April). Limited companies and VAT have their own deadlines, which I'll always flag to you well ahead of time. The earlier you get your records to me, the calmer it is for everyone.

  • Making Tax Digital for Income Tax changes how some people report to HMRC — instead of one annual return, you keep digital records and send quarterly updates. From April 2026 it applies to sole traders and landlords with gross income over £50,000, dropping to £30,000 from April 2027 and reducing further after that. If it applies to you, you'll need the MTD package rather than a one-off return.

  • Any time. Year-round support is built into every service — ask me a tax or business question whenever it comes up and you'll get a prompt, clear answer, not a separate invoice. I aim to respond within 24 hours, usually sooner.

  • If the service you receive isn't in line with what I promised you, I'll put it right — or refund you.

  • Easily. Once you're on board I'll contact your current accountant for the standard professional clearance and handover, and get you authorised with HMRC. You don't have to have an awkward conversation or chase anything — I handle the move for you.

  • Yes. Your data is handled in line with UK data protection rules and only used to do your work.
